Welcome to the Future Tracks ECT capabilities online discussion forum.
This discussion forum is open to all qualified Early Childhood Teachers across Australia. For clarity, this means you have completed a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood. We are particularly interested in the views of recent graduates (i.e. have graduated in the last 5 years) who are working as ECTs.

Future Tracks have commissioned dandolo to conduct a research project looking at the capabilities that ECTs are expected to have when entering the workforce, to better understand which are strengths and areas for development. This information will help to identify short and long term projects to better support ECTs in the first few years of working in the sector.
This online discussion forum is a critical component of our research. It will help us understand:
• The capabilities you perceive as your strengths and areas for development
• Your view of what is expected of you by your employer / the sector
• What needs to change to better support newly graduated ECTs
How it will work?
This discussion forum will run between Tuesday June 9 and Friday June 12. We will post a new question each day for those four days.
You’re welcome to respond to questions and engage with other participants at a time that suits you, and to contribute as much or as little as you like. We might also ask some specific follow-up questions based on your responses.
All discussions will be moderated by dandolo partners. dandolo have been engaged by Future Tracks as consultants for this project.
Voluntary participation
Participation in this online discussion forum is completely voluntary. If you agree to participate and then change your mind, you are free to withdraw your consent at anytime. In the event that you exercise this option, any information we collect from you will not be reported in our findings.
Confidentiality and anonymity
Information gathered from you will be completely confidential and anonymous. Only the team at dandolo will have access to the information you provide. dandolo will not report any information in a way that can be used to identify any individual.
